Doreen M. (Leger) Balboni, 71, passed away September 4, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. Born on April 3, 1950 in Holyoke, MA to the late Robert and Frances (Kalisz) Leger, she was a lifelong area resident.  Doreen worked for many years for Sodexo Food Services, primarily at the former John F. Kennedy Junior High School in Indian Orchard where she was able to combine her love of cooking with her love of children.  Doreen, known for her cooking, was a frequent patron of the Hampden VFW and would often cook for many events there.  A huge Red Sox fan, she especially loved her favorite player, Mookie Betts.  Doreen was proud of her Polish heritage.  She was incredibly strong willed, stubborn and never wrong; she had a great sense of humor that she was willing to share with everyone.  She will be especially remembered for her big heart, always willing to go out of her way to help others.

She leaves her beloved sons, Daniel Balboni and his wife Diem of East Longmeadow and Christopher Balboni and his wife Alicia of Springfield; her loving partner of 28 years, Jack Morse of Hampden; her cherished grandchildren, Jeremy Balboni of Springfield and Kalia Balboni of East Longmeadow; and also several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.  She was especially close with her sister in-law Donna and her friend Liz who provided her with much support and comfort over the last few years.  Besides her parents, Doreen was predeceased by her husband, Daniel A. Balboni in 1993 and her brothers, Gary Leger, Larry Augustus, and Robert Leger.

Funeral services will be held at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield on Monday, September 13, 2021 with Calling Hours from 4-6pm followed by a Memorial Service at 6pm.
