Dorothy Szaban, 96, of Wilbraham, MA passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, April 4, 2020. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Korob, she came to Springfield, MA in 1935 and was a graduate of Commerce High School. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and lived in Wilbraham since 1956. She retired from the work force in 1963, was a volunteer nurses’ aid during WWII and a volunteer at Wingate of Wilbraham for 20 years.
“Dottie” was predeceased by her husband Edward Szaban and her brother John Korob. She is survived by her brother Francis Korob and wife Kay of Feeding Hills, MA, nieces Donna Miodowski and husband Fred of CT, Michelle Littlefield of Feeding Hills, MA, Patricia Korob of FL, several grand nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Jean Blanchard, also of Wilbraham. She was an avid sports fan of both UCONN and Alabama, and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and Foxwoods Casino.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private celebration of Dottie’s life will be held at a later date.
