Duane Scott “Chipper” Dobbins, 71, of Ludlow, passed away June 1, 2021 at home. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 1, 1949 to the late Nathaniel and Iona (Kerner) Dobbins. Duane was raised in Columbus, moved to New York at a young age, and returned to Columbus for a number of years where he furthered his education. He had many skills and worked in various industries throughout his life including automotive sales and as a private investigator. He also served in the U.S. military. Chipper, as he was affectionately known, was a people person who enjoyed talking to everyone. He was an avid fisherman.
He leaves his children: Cynthia Gavin and her husband Alphonso of Albany, NY, Laura Dobbins of Latham, NY, Sequoia Dobbins of Atlanta, GA and Duane Dobbins, Jr.; his brothers and sisters: Bruce Dobbins of Hadley, MA, Jeffrey Dobbins of Springfield, MA, Stephanie Howard of Springfield, MA, Kim Dobbins of Springfield, MA, Shirley Steward of Brooklyn, NY, Shelley Woods of Springfield, MA and Patricia Jarmon of Las Vegas, NV; his grandchildren: Daniel Scott, Mario Dobbins, Jonathan Dobbins, Najee Richardson, Sharrietta Dobbins and Brandon Stenson; his great-grandchildren: My’lia Dobbins and Jeddie Collins King, IV, along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Ronald Dobbins and a sister Saundra Dobbins.
