Edward Haryasz
1942-2021
LUDLOW
Edward Haryasz, 79, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 under the gentle, compassionate care of Mercy Medical Center. Born in Ludlow on February 27, 1942 to the late Walter and Amelia (Lak) Haryasz, he grew up in Indian Orchard and raised his family as part of the Ludlow community for the past 54 years. Ed proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam war and was a member of the Polish American Veterans Club of Wilbraham. An active, devoted and faithful communicant of Christ the King Church in Ludlow, he shared his faith and love for God with others as a Eucharistic Minister, lector and collector. He was a past member of the Men's Guild and prayed weekly at the Adoration Chapel since its inception. Ed worked for many years as a licensed electrician at MassMutual and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 7 in Springfield. An avid New England sports fan, he often could be found with his family and friends enthusiastically rooting on all the teams, particularly the Red Sox and Patriots. Ed also enjoyed golfing and passed his love of golf from his father to members of the next two generations. He spent much of his retirement traveling extensively in the United States and abroad with his wife and the Ludlow Travel Club. While he may have gone far, he always returned from his travels with a greater love of home and family. His grandchildren remained his greatest joy and he was often found on a sideline, at a dance recital or hearing about their many academic achievements. With a twinkle in his eye, he shared his humor and love for others with all who crossed his path, making each person's day brighter for having been with him.
He leaves his beloved wife of 54 years, Marilyn (Borowik) Haryasz; his loving sons and their wives, Michael and Michelle Haryasz of Ludlow, Robert and Lori Haryasz of Ludlow, and Tom and Megan Haryasz of Southampton; his treasured grandchildren, Hannah, Bretton, Emily, Ashley, and Noah Haryasz; his brothers and their wives, Theodore and Barbara of Ballston Lake, NY, Chester and Sandy of Phoenix, AZ, and David and Susan of Longmeadow, MA along with many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:30am at Christ the King Church, Ludlow. Burial is private.
