Eleanor A. (Jones) Moore, 99, passed away on Thanksgiving morning, November 28, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Eleanor and her late husband Paul lived with their daughter Evelyn Mullin and her husband Edward and their children Conor and Eliza in 16 Acres, Springfield since 1999. Evelyn and family lovingly cared for them in their later years.
Eleanor was born September 22, 1925 in Petersham MA to Charles W. and Fanny A. (Harris) Jones, and grew up in Athol and Petersham, which was her favorite place to be. She attended Athol schools and the Boston School of Dental Nursing. She worked at Simon's Rock College in Great Barrington and later in the Town of Lee Collector's Office - a job she loved. She and Paul were members of the Bela Grotto. She moved from Lee to Springfield in 1981.
Eleanor's family was everything to her. She loved to have them visit and hated to see them leave. She also was very accomplished at cross-stitch, sewing, and needlework and leaves many beautiful creations behind. She also loved baking. Last but not least she loved a good joke, the cornier the better. She had a great sense of humor.
Eleanor leaves her 4 children and their spouses: Kenneth Myers and Judy, Elaine Fitzpatrick and Michael, Jeanne Stanard and Edward, Evelyn Mullin and Ed. Her beloved stepchildren with Paul are Allison Owens and Steve, Paul Moore and Cassandra, Bruce Moore and Jill, Melanie Strycharz and Bill, Darryl Overall and David, along with numerous cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She also leaves her adored sister Carolyn Monette and many extended family members, friends, and caregivers who became friends!
She was predeceased by her husband Paul Moore and her sister Janet MacDonald.
