Ernest “Danny” Kenny, Jr. 69, a lifelong resident of Indian Orchard, dies at the home of his daughter on August 15, 2023. Born in Springfield, MA on Sept. 18, 1953, he is the son of Ernest D. Kenny Sr. and the late Ruth (Leonard) Kenny. Danny graduated from Putnam High School and worked for many years as an electrician and roofer. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #277.
“The life of the party“, Danny was loved by so many and had friends everywhere he went.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his long-time companion, Ann Sheehan, of Ludlow; his four children, Tricia Plourde (Leo) of Ludlow, Kimberly Kenny of Palmer, Jessica Hall (Michael) of Ludlow and Shayne Kenny (fiancée Julia Gauthier) of West Springfield; his brother, David Kenny of GA; five sisters, Bonnie Amtmann, Belinda Comette, Brenda Jablonski, Bridget McCarthy and Barbara Kenny; as well as 6 grandchildren, Meghan Plourde, Caitlin Osgood, Scott Loncrini, Brianna Loncrini, Cora Hall and Alice Hall, and 2 great-grandchildren, Brody and Juliana. As one of ten children, Danny was predeceased by his brother Douglas and two sisters, Beverly Kenny and Bernadette Gelinas.
Funeral Services for Danny will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, with Calling Hours at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield from 9am-11am followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church, 405 Boston Rd., Springfield at 12noon and burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
