Eugene H. Poirier, 96, passed away December 27, 2020. Born in Springfield on February 13, 1924 to the late Hector and Dorilla (Tetrault) Poirier, he was a lifelong area resident. Eugene served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He worked for many years in the information technology department for Friendly’s.

He leaves his children, Richard Poirier of East Longmeadow, Elizabeth Thompson of East Longmeadow, Susan Poirier of Glenmoore, PA and Diane Shea of Norristown, PA along with 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends. Eugene was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary (Bissonnette) Poirier on May 15, 2019 and a grandson, Ian Shea.
