Fernando da Silva Goncalves, 86, passed away April 17, 2023 at Palmer Healthcare. Born in Nadrupe, Lourinha, Portugal on December 8, 1936 to the late Firmino Goncalves and Teodora da Conceicao, he immigrated with his family to America in 1969 and settled in Ludlow, MA.

Fernando is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maria da Ascencao (Lopes) Goncalves; his children, Hernani “Nundi” Goncalves ( Anne), Fernanda Scully, and Zelia Goncalves; his siblings, Tony Goncalves (Jenny) and Grace Baltasar; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Maria Carmody.

Funeral services will be private and are entrusted to Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
