Frances M. (Newman) Shaw

Frances Madelena Shaw, 92, of Wilbraham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2022.  She was born on February 26, 1930 in Beacon Falls, CT to Leo and Christine (Ondras) Newman.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Philip Shaw (1995), her first husband, George Kinner (2018), parents Leo (1979) and Christine (1942) Newman, brother Eugene (2019), and son Kevin (2020).  She is survived by her brother Donald; sons Lynn, David (Jody), Jan (Susan), Brian (Kathy), and Thomas Kinner; daughter Susan Siok; grandsons Ian, Jonathan, Torben, Kyle, Jeremiah, and Joshua; granddaughters Margaret, Kedi, Sarah, Heidi, Kiana, and Elizabeth; and great grandchildren Isla, Owen, Ellie, Caroline, and Keith, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Fran was a long-time employee of the Wilbraham-Hampden school systems where she served meals with a side of love to Wilbraham’s Stony Hill school kids for 42 years and a seasonal summer employee of the Riverside Park/Six Flags in Agawam for 12 years. Fran was envied by many for her ability to discover great finds at tag and estate sales as well as auctions.  Her collection of pewter was second to none and occupied many of the shelves in her house.  She enjoyed entertaining family and friends and was well known for hosting large family gatherings for the holidays.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 2-4pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Baystate Home Health Hospice Services at https://tinyurl.com/msnwftyw.
