Francis X. Asselin, Jr., 73, of Chicopee, died at home on November 29, 2025. Born in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield on June 8, 1952, he was the son of the late Francis X. Asselin, Sr. and Lorraine R. (Albert) Asselin.
Francis was raised in Indian Orchard and had lived in Chicopee for the past 20 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the Indian Orchard Mills, St. Aloysius Cemetery and Hillcrest Park Cemetery, and later in the maintenance department at Western New England University.
He is survived by his two children, Todd Asselin and his wife Michelle of Malone, NY, and Monique Sherman and her husband Anthony of East Longmeadow, two sisters, Lela Bennett and her husband Tom of Chicopee and Maureen Smith and her husband Harold of West Springfield. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Audree, Autum, Ethan and Matthew; three great-grandchildren, Paisleigh, Cecilia and Delilah, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services for Francis on Friday, December 5, 2025 with Calling Hours from 10:00am-11:30am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield, followed by a Prayer Service in the funeral home at 11:30am and burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Springfield.
