It is with much sadness that the family of Frank Paul Garde announces his passing on September 18, 2023. Frank Paul was born on August 19, 1928 in Springfield, MA, the oldest son of the late Frank Peter and Marie E. (Santarsiero) Garde. He attended Holy Family Grammar School in Springfield, taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph and attended Cathedral High School. He married Marceline Delude on April 25, 1949. Frank worked at Haynes & Company, Milton Bradley, and Moore Drop Forge before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1952. He served in Korea and was wounded in September, 1952. He convalesced in Yokohama and Omiya before returning to his outfit. He left Korea on the day of armistice on July 27, 1953 and was honored with the Purple Heart medal for his bravery and sacrifice. Frank returned to work for Moore Drops Forge for 7 years before beginning a 13 years career with the U.S. Postal Service. He worked as a sub-clerk and regular clerk, and retired as a supervisor in 1973 at age 50.
