Frank Mitchell Maliga, 91, of Springfield, passed away January 22, 2022 at Mary’s Meadow at Providence Place in Holyoke. Born on August 24, 1930 in Indian Orchard, he was one of seven children of the late Frank and Mary (Mondry) Maliga. He was a lifelong Springfield and Ludlow resident and a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church.
Frank worked as a machinist for Springfield Cast, retiring after 23 years of service. He was a talented woodworker who created many intricate carvings, bowls, and art pieces. He was also an avid gardener of fruits and vegetables.
Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 36 years, Anna Mae (Yandow) Maliga; a step-son and a step-daughter, and his many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 11am-12pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield and then proceeding to St. Catherine of Siena Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
