Frank Alfred Mastalerz, 93, passed away October 27, 2021 at Suffield by the River in Suffield, CT. Born in Springfield, MA on September 18, 1928 to the late Michael and Frances (Turek) Mastalerz, Frank was a longtime resident of Indian Orchard and a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church. Over many years, he worked at Associated Engineers, Standard Paper Company, Eastern Container and Carter Macleod from which he retired in 2012. Frank graduated from Western New England College earning his Bachelors and Masters degrees, was a FreeMason and a member of Shriners International. He was a renowned guitar player in the Massachusetts area, having played with many top bands and musicians and a member of the Springfield Musicians Union. Frank was also an avid photographer and an active participant in the Springfield Photographic Society.
He will lovingly be remembered by his daughter, Mary Sutton, her husband Craig, and two grandchildren, Bryan and Brittany and several other dear family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Frank was also predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (Biergel) Mastalerz in 1963, and three sisters, Josephine Bolduc, Genevieve Lupa, and Stella Galica. The family is very grateful to the entire staff at Suffield by the River, Suffield, CT and Vitas Hospice Care from Connecticut, for the wonderful care, compassion, and support they provided. All services were private and entrusted to Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services.
