Gary S. Lyon, Sr.

Gary Scott Lyon, Sr., 66, passed away September 19, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield on April 18, 1959 he was 1 of 8 children of the late George and Margaret (Bellevue) Lyon and was a lifelong Springfield resident. Gary dedicated 14 years to the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA), working in maintenance and also took pride in managing a rental property in Indian Orchard. He found joy in riding his motorcycle, especially on long rides shared with his wife. He had a passion for classic cars, often attending car shows, and spent countless hours restoring his 100-year-old home.

He leaves his wife of 14 years, Carol (McKenzie) Lyon and his children: Gary Lyon Jr. and his wife Angie of Westfield, Justin Lyon of Athol, James Lyon and his wife Melissa of Hampden, and Sarah Baldwin and her husband Nate of Jaffrey, NH. He also leaves 15 grandchildren, other extended family members and many friends.
