Gerald James Murdza, 77, of Ludlow passed away in the ease of his own home on Friday, May 8, 2026. Gerald ‘Jerry’ was born on July 16, 1948, to the late John and Amelia Murdza. Raised in Chicopee, Mass., he was a graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1966. Jerry was a long-time resident of Ludlow. He retired after employment with Valley Plating for 35 years, from 1980 to 2015. He was a car enthusiast, avidly attending car shows and working on his Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible. Jerry admired the outdoors, whether it was traveling all over the place or simply staying in the yard working on one of is many projects in and around the house, especially including his love for his John Deeres’. He also loved nothing more than boating and being by the water, particularly Misquamicut State Beach.
Jerry is survived by his two sons, Robert Murdza and Anthony Murdza. He leaves five grandchildren; Sean Murdza, and his wife Erinn, Lexi Murdza, Ashley Murdza, Brennan Murdza, and Leeann Murdza. He leaves his three beloved great-grandchildren; Mason Murdza, Lucas Murdza, and Madelynn Murdza. Jerry also leaves his adored sister; Dolores Chaban, along with her two daughters and their families; Joanne Murray, and her husband James; and Susan Kane, and her husband John.
A service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Visiting hours will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave, Indian Orchard MA , 01151. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105 or online at www.stjude.org.
