Gina Belden Obituary

Her Time Was Short, Her Impact Endless

Gina L. Belden (King), 57, of Chicopee, passed away on November 8, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Holyoke on July 5, 1968, she was the daughter of the late Charles King Sr. and Dawn (Corriea) King.

A graduate of Putnam High School, Class of 1986, Gina worked for many years as a special needs school bus driver, where her caring heart and patience touched the lives of countless children and families. Earlier in life, she devoted herself to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom, always putting family first.

Gina was deeply patriotic, an excellent cook, and a lover of music. She was known for her big heart, her sense of humor, and her open-door policy — her home was always a place where family and friends were welcome and cared for. She will be remembered most for her kindness, her warmth, and her unwavering love for those around her.

She is survived by her three daughters, Toni Morese of Chicopee, Jennifer Belden of East Longmeadow, and Jessica Belden of Springfield. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jammi Belden. Gina also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Noelle Kvarnstrom, and Kamry Washington, who lovingly knew her as “Momma Gina.”

Gina is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Anna Rutherford, Charles King Jr., Dawn Holland, Edward King, Francis King, and Jody Del Valle, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three siblings: Harvey King, Inez King, and Bonnie King.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Tom Baer of Chicopee; his sister, Jennifer Caron; his daughter, Miranda; and his grandchildren, Azariah Ortiz, Raelynn Ortiz, and Francisco Ortiz Jr., all of whom held a special place in Gina’s heart.

Gina was married for 25 years (divorced in 2012) to her high school sweetheart, James “Jimmy” Belden, with whom she shared many cherished memories and four beautiful daughters.

Gina’s love, laughter, and generosity will be forever missed by all of her family and friends.

She made everyone feel like family — and that love will never fade.
