Helen Anne (Kudjo) Kaczenski, 99, passed on November 26, 2024. She was born in Greenfield, MA, on August 3, 1925. She attended Greenfield schools and moved to Canada where she served as a dental assistant in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps during World War II. After the war she returned to Greenfield where she married Edward S. Kaczenski in the former Sacred Heart Church of Greenfield on January 25, 1947. She lived in Wilbraham, MA during the last 60 years where she was a communicant at St. Cecelia’s Church. Helen’s most precious value was her family to which she was completely dedicated.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Edward and granddaughter, Kristen. She is survived by seven children; Edward, Jr. (Karen) of Greenfield, Janet Kaczenski (David La Freniere) of Lunenburg, Susan Smola (Robert) of Monson, Caroline Ouimette (Ronald) of Chester, Steven of Wilbraham, Katherine Pierce of Monson, and Patricia Liquori (Gary) of Southwick. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
There will be a funeral mass at St. Cecilia Church in Wilbraham on Monday, December 2 at 11am followed by burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Greenfield MA. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services.
