Helen M. (Greco) Lewandowski, 101, passed away April 24, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Springfield on July 29, 1918 to the late Antonio and Esther (Manupelli) Greco, she was a lifelong area resident. Helen worked as a machine operator at Phelan for many years. She was a member of the Forest Park VFW Auxiliary Post 7352 and the Sisters of Columbus. Helen loved to dance and everyone she met admired her. She will be remembered as an independent, strong-willed woman with an incredible sense of humor.
She leaves a nephew, William Donnellan and niece Patti Thornton of Feeding Hills; her long-time friend Diane Samble; her dedicated caregivers, many other family members and friends, and her beloved dog, Brinnie. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Eugene Lewandowski in 2005; a brother Fred Greco and 2 sisters Mafalda Donnellan and Theresa White.
