Helen (Wytrwal) Zielonka, 92, of Indian Orchard, passed away on February 27, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving children. She was born to the late Wojciech and Rozalia (Siakala) Wytrwal in Thompsonville, Connecticut on May 13, 1929. Helen grew up in Poland and returned to the United States with her family in 1965. She worked as a quality control inspector for Smith & Wesson. A dedicated and faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, she was a member of its choir and the St. Anne and Rosary Sodalities. Helen enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening but most especially, her faith, family and the many friendships she cherished.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her children: Wojciech Zielonka and his wife Marcelle of Miami, FL, Aleksandra Zielonka of Indian Orchard and Peter Green and his wife Lynn, of Bennington, VT and her grandchildren: Konrad Zielonka and Aiden Green. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Watson Zielonka.
Special recognition and appreciation is extended to Beacon Hospice, especially to Pam Elmer and Katrina Miller, for their excellent care and compassion during Helen’s final days.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 9am-10:30am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.
