Helena J. (Macheta) Kruczkowski, 95, of Ludlow, passed away on June 22, 2021 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. One of eight children, she was born in Zakliczyn, Poland on June 1, 1926 to the late Jan and Maria (Wojtanowicz) Macheta. Helena came to the United States with her family in 1965 where she raised her family in Holyoke before moving to Chicopee in 1980. For the past 6 years, she had resided in Ludlow with her son and daughter-in-law. She was a faithful, active member of Mater Dolorosa Church in Holyoke. She loved baking, tending to her herb garden, crocheting, and sewing. Most importantly, Helena’s main focus in life was raising and caring for her beloved family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Zenon Kruczkowski and his wife Tina of Ludlow; her sisters, Zofia Motak and Irena Gondek, of Poland; her grandchildren, Yvonne Lazzaro, Yolanda O'Shea, and Brygid Kruczkowski and her great-grandchildren, Ania, Robert, and Abram Lazzaro, and Karolina O'Shea. She was predeceased by her husband, Zenon Kruczkowski; her son, Wlodzimierz Kruczkowski; her brothers, Franek, Wladyslaw and Jan Macheta and her sisters, Stanislawa Macheta and Joanna Grochola.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 8:30am-10:30am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield followed by a funeral mass at Christ the King Church, 41 Warsaw Ave., Ludlow at 11am. Burial is private at the convenience of the family.
