J. Boldys Obituary

Threasa Boldys, 94, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2022.

She is survived by her children, Walter, Stephen, and Jacqueline; daughter-in-law, Patricia; daughter-in-love, Elaine; son-in-love, Ted; grandchildren, Caroline, Alexander, Laura, Annie, Sarah, and Gavin; great-grandchildren, Julian and Aiden; siblings, Gregory and Dora; and a host of other dearly loved family and longtime friends.

She is reunited in death with her beloved husband, Walter (“Wally”) Boldys, and her second great love, Paul Morin. She also joins her parents, Edmund Dauplaise and Yvonne Letendre, and siblings, Ernest, Cecile, Roger, John, Wilfred, Irene, and Richard, whom she adored.

Threasa had boundless energy, a limitless capacity to love, and an insatiable sweet tooth. Her near super-human strength and tolerance for pain were legend, as demonstrated by her love of sub-zero Canadian winter walks, blisteringly hot tea, and recklessly daring housekeeping. She had an unshakeable faith in the goodness of people, an uncanny ability to find four-leaf clovers, and an indefatigable spirit that both exhausted and inspired her loved ones.

She worked for many years alongside family at R&C Floral, Inc. in Ludlow, MA.  The greenhouse was a second home to her, filled with sunshine and some of the people she loved most.

She volunteered for 25 years as a docent at the Museum of Fine Arts in Springfield, MA, guiding tours, giving lectures, and sharing her love of art with the community. She especially enjoyed teaching children and nurturing their self-expression through the creation of art.

Most of all, she loved her family and friends. Whether you knew her as Threasa, Auntie, Mom, Grandma, or Nanny, she loved you fiercely (and probably kept every note, card, photo, and memento you ever gave her). She leaves us with a lifetime of treasured memories and, knowing Threasa, a hidden trove of candy, yet to be discovered.

The family would like to thank all of the healthcare professionals who took such wonderful care of Threasa in her last years and are sincerely grateful to her caretaker, Cece, and hospice nurses.

Following her wishes, there will not be a public service, but everyone who remembers her is asked to celebrate Threasa’s life in their own way. To honor her memory, please give of yourself generously and love freely, as Threasa did.
