Janet T. (Reidy) Hayward

Janet T. (Reidy) Hayward, 89, of Chicopee, died August 14, 2024 at Bear Mountain West Health Care Center in West Springfield. Born in Holyoke on October 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late James and Anita (Charpentier) Reidy. She was raised in Holyoke and had lived in Chicopee since 1957.

Janet worked as a cashier at the Food Mart in Chicopee and at the Factory Gift Store in Ludlow. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles with her husband, as well as doing word puzzles. She loved outside work and her lawn was always kept meticulously, not a leaf or weed in sight.

She is survived by three children, Mark Hayward and his wife Tanya, Debra A. Hayward, and Cheryl Hajdamowicz and her husband Paul, her two daughters-in-law, Francine Hayward and Lyne Hayward, one sister, Marie Fitzgerald, as well as her five grandchildren, Sophia Hayward, Megan Lafrenaye and her husband Nick, Teresa Hayward Kagan and her husband Mike, Jenna Hajdamowicz and Krista Hajdamowicz, and her three great-grandchildren, Eric, Nico and Cali Lafrenaye.

Janet was the wife of the late Ned E. Hayward, Jr., the mother of the late Ned Hayward, III and the sister of the late Roger Reidy, James Reidy, Claire Campbell and Jean Griffin.
