Jeffery James Mendenhall

Jeffery James “Jebb” Mendenhall, 32, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 25, 2025. Born on June 12, 1992, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of Dawn (Bruso) Mendenhall and the late Kevin Mendenhall. A lifelong resident of the area, Jebb spent his early years in West Springfield and later made his home in Springfield and Indian Orchard.

Jebb had a creative spirit and a passion for cooking. He was always experimenting in the kitchen, happy to share his latest recipes with family and friends. He had a love for travel—Florida held a special place in his heart—and he cherished the long car rides he shared with his dad. A true kid at heart, Jebb enjoyed collecting Power Rangers memorabilia, especially anything featuring his favorite, the Green Ranger, Tommy Oliver. Above all, Jebb was a devoted family man. He treasured the time spent with his children, was known lovingly as a “mama’s boy,” and held a special bond with his grandmother, “Nannie,” as her first grandchild.

He leaves his mother, Dawn Mendenhall of Indian Orchard; his children Ethan and Isabella Babbie, along with their mother Brittany Babbie, all of Springfield; his brother, Donald Mendenhall and his partner Brittany Seymour of South Hadley and his sister Stephanie Mendenhall and her partner Ariana Lozada of Indian Orchard and his grandmother Cynthia Housman of Ludlow. He also leaves his aunts and uncles: Nicole and Michael Whiting of Ludlow, Debra and Jim Taylor of Indian Orchard, Michelle Danek of Ludlow, Paul Mendenhall of Springfield, and Daniel Mendenhall of Ludlow; a niece, Gianna Mendenhall and nephews Logan Labonte, Donald Mendenhall, Jr., Jaxson Mendenhall and Jaylen Mendenhall; his cousin Scott Mendenhall of Springfield, along with many other cousins, extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Kevin Mendenhall on January 27, 2025, his aunt Sheila Mendenhall, and his uncle James Mendenhall.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 5-7PM at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard.
