Jenny M. (Ziembienski) Banas, 97, a longtime resident of Ludlow, was called home to eternal rest on October 28, 2022 at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Born in the Three Rivers section of Palmer on June 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Jacob & Mary (Zamora) Ziembienski. She was a graduate of Palmer High School, and worked as seamstress at LaTrique’s and for White Aircraft as a Class A welder during WW II. She was passionate about crocheting, sewing, gardening, crafting,baking as well as chatting with friends and extended family.
Jenny is predeceased by her husband, Sylvester Banas, they were married on Oct. 28, 1944. She is also predeceased by her brother, Stanley Ziembienski and a sister Steffie Ziembienski. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Welcome of Ocala, FL, son James Banas, Sr. and his wife Patricia of Granby, MA, brother, Steven Ziembienski, sister, Mary Spink, as well as five grandchildren, Jennifer Welcome, Christopher Welcome and his wife Melissa, James Banas, Jr., Heather Shaffer, and Kerry Walker and her husband Steve, and seven great-grandchildren.
Calling Hours for Jenny will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 4-7pm, and on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 9-10am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. A Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 10am with burial to follow at Island Pond Cemetery in Ludlow.
