Joan Ann (Koziol) Roberts

Joan Ann (Koziol) Roberts, 82, passed away December 15, 2019 at Mount St. Vincent Care Center in Holyoke.  Born in Springfield to the late Stephen and Amelia (Parylak) Koziol, she was a lifelong area resident.  A faithful parishioner of St. Cecilia Church in Wilbraham for many years, she most recently attended St. Stanislaus Church in Chicopee.  She retired as a respiratory therapist from Baystate Medical Center. An active member of the Red Hat Society and the Chicopee Senior Center, she enjoyed participating in many activities, especially bead making. She enjoyed nature, time spent at the beach, and camping. Most especially, Joan was a loving Nana to her beloved grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Wayne Roberts, a daughter Deborah Mamulski and a grandson Noah Roberts. She leaves a son, Stephen A. Roberts and his wife Lisa of Chicopee; a brother Stephen Koziol and a sister Dolores Wallenius; her grandchildren born of her daughter Deborah: Stephanie and Kristen Mamulski, those of her son Stephen: Lillian, Benjamin, and Nathan Roberts, and those of her son Wayne who she had the joy of knowing: Joshua, Alexandra, Elisabeth, Christian, Caroline, Taylor and Riley Roberts; nieces Michelle Zemba and nephews Stephen Koziol and Michael and Eric Wallenius and several great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee.
