Joanne M. (Wellspeak) Weaver

Joanne May (Wellspeak) Weaver, 62, passed away July 30, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, MA on March 4, 1962 to the late Edward and Margaret (Harrington) Wellspeak, she was a lifelong area resident. She grew up in Palmer and had lived in Chicopee, Springfield and had most recently settled in Ludlow.

Joanne’s professional life was dedicated to caregiving. She worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, with her most recent position being at Wingate of South Hadley. Known for her compassionate and caring nature, Joanne touched the lives of many patients, who cherished her kindness and dedication.

Joanne loved the outdoors. She found great joy in basking in the sunshine, particularly at the beach, and she took any opportunity to feel the soothing comfort of walking barefoot. Shopping excursions with her daughter were always a special time that were cherished. She liked country music and dancing. Joanne could often be found enjoying a bag of UTZ potato chips.

She leaves her children, Lisa Marie Carabine, Sean Edward Weaver, and Ashton Jorge Quinones, all of Springfield; her longtime partner, Jorge Quinones of Ludlow; her sister, Sandra Wellspeak; her grandsons, Evan Carabine and Cameron Bissonnette; her former husband Ricky Weaver, along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Debra Wellspeak.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Ave., Indian Orchard. Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
