John C. Lizon, 76, entered into Eternal Rest on May 22, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center. John was born in Gorlice, Poland on April 28, 1947 to the late Florian and Helena (Wojciechowska) Lizon. At the age of 14, he immigrated to the United States. He lived in Indian Orchard for many years and for over 40 years, he was a Ludlow resident. After 46 years of service, John retired as a machinist from Smith & Wesson. John loved racing his pigeons and was a member of the Chicopee-based Central Massachusetts Racing Pigeon Club. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Teresa (Wilga) Lizon; his brother, Henry Lizon and his wife Janet of Ludlow; a brother-in-law, Stanley Wilga and his wife Christine of Wales, MA; 2 sisters-in-law, Diane Weise and her husband Gary of San Juan Capistrano, CA and Wendy Kersh and her husband Scott of Laguna Nigel, CA, along with serval nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 4:00-7:00pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 assembling at 9:00am at the funeral home and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 25 Parker St., Indian Orchard MA 01151.
