John W. Lubelczyk, 85, of East Longmeadow and formerly of Springfield, died June 20, 2024. Born in Ware on April 14, 1939, he was the son of the late Stanley & Apolinia (Zielinski) Lubelczyk.
John worked on the family farm that he owned in Hardwick, on the land where he grew up. John took over managing the farm in the early 1960’s when his father died. He was one of the first in the area to have a freestyle barn with a milking parlor. He also went bigger and better with the farm machinery from a 30hptractor to 100 hp tractor with bigger implements to go behind it. This got the field work done much quicker. He went from a two ton dump truck to a ten ton dump truck to haul crops from a distance to the farm. He became a very good welder and fabricated many of his own tools and equipment.
John also worked as a construction worker for the Zelinski Bros. and as a truck driver. He was an avid fan and loved watching and following WWE & WWF wrestling.
The brother of the late Edward Lubelczyk, John is survived by a step-daughter, Amy Marsh, two brothers, Chet Lubelczyk, and Charles Lubelczyk and his wife Jean, his sister, Maryann Ouellette, his sister-in-law Julia Lubelczyk, as well as his 11 nieces and nephews; Joseph, Mandi, Fran, Melanie, Jamie, Brian, Crystal, Paul, Steve, Lisa and Tara.
Committal Services were held privately by his family with his burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield. To leave John’s family an online condolence, please visit www.nowakfuneral.com.
