John W. "Billy" Riley, Jr.

John William “Billy” Riley Jr., 84, passed away at his home in Agawam on December 9, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. His beloved angel, Maria “Kieshka” Danek, called him home on the same day that she passed away in 2012. Billy was born on December 27, 1938 in Ludlow, MA to the late John W. Riley and Edna (Parker) Misiaszek and grew up in Indian Orchard. After graduating from Roger L. Putnam Vocational High School, he went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Navy. After being discharged, he went on to have a long career at Smith & Wesson, retiring after 30 years. Billy was a longtime little league baseball coach for the Indian Orchard Lions. He was also an avid beagler and enjoyed Polka music. Billy had another angel here on earth in his daughter-in-law, Connie Danek. Together through thick and thin they formed a special bond: from doctors’ visits to shopping to playing Uber driver for his late night dances.

Billy leaves to cherish his memory, his loving son and devoted caregiver, Michael Danek and his wife Connie of Agawam; his sister, Carol Misiaszek of Wilbraham; his grandchildren: Michael Danek and his partner Courtney, Evan Danek, and Stephanie Danek and her partner Dillon; a great-grandchild, Myles and other close family members and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his angel Maria Danek, and 2 sisters, Linda Hammons and Ruth Urban.
