Jorge G. Fernandes

Jorge G. Fernandes, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 11, 2024. Born in Travassos da Cha, Montalegre, Portugal on September 20, 1961, Jorge spent his young adult years in Portugal and immigrated with his family to The United States over forty years ago. He worked hard while making time to spend with his family during his middle-aged years, and especially enjoyed watching Benfica, his favorite Portuguese soccer team.

Jorge was loved and raised by his late mother Luisa G. Fernandes. He was a loving brother to Maria Lopes and husband Cristiano, Fernanda Matias and husband Julio Pacheco, Domingos Batista and his wife Idalina, and devoted bother Manuel Fernandes. He leaves many nieces and nephews here and in Portugal, also many great nieces/nephews and dear friends.

Visiting hours for Jorge will be held October 16, 2024 from 8am to 9am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield with Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Ludlow at 10am followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
