Joseph Stanley Kosior, 84, of Ludlow, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Life Care Center in Wilbraham. Born in Wolka Grodziska, Poland on March 1, 1936, he was the son of the late Stanley and Catherine (Kolcz) Kosior. He immigrated to the U. S. at a young age and lived in South Hadley until moving to Ludlow in 1972. Joseph worked as a crane operator at Northfield Mountain hydroelectric plant and then retired from the Ludlow Department of Public Works after 25 years of service. A member of the Polish American Citizens Club, he loved to listen and dance to polka music at Pulaski Park and at local church picnics. Joseph was also an avid Yankees fan and loved antique cars.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irene (Oszustowicz) Kosior; his daughter Candace Kosior of Oakland, CA; his brother Anthony Kosior of Conway, MA; several nieces and nephews along with many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 assembling at 9:00am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services. 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield and proceeding to Christ the King Church for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Island Pond Cemetery, Ludlow. A public walk-thru visitation will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. All guests will be required to follow all Covid-19 precautions in regards to masks and social distancing and there will be limitations on capacity at the funeral home, church, and cemetery.
