Joseph E. Martin, Jr.

Joseph E. Martin, Jr., 83, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center. Born on December 26, 1941, in Springfield, he was the son of the late Joseph Martin Sr., and Marie Gaysak.

Joseph was raised mainly in Boston, Wilbraham, and Granby. Following his graduation from high school, Joseph enlisted in the Marine Corps and proudly served from 1960-1964 when he was discharged with the rank of Corporal.

Joseph then worked as a linesman for 18 years with Mass Electric in Palmer. He settled in Ludlow with his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara. For many years, Joseph volunteered for the Ludlow Senior Center, driving one of their buses. He will be remembered for his active lifestyle, as he could often be found on his daily five-mile walks through Ludlow.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Sr., and Marie. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Supernaw) Martin and his half-siblings, Stanley, Ruth, Louise, and Genevieve.

All funeral services for Joseph will be private, at the request of his family.
