Joseph Pafumi Obituary

Joseph Christopher Pafumi, 43, passed away September 30, 2020 after a long battle with addiction. Joe was born on December 5, 1976 the loving son of Colleen (O’Sullivan) Pafumi and the late Michael Pafumi, Sr. and was a lifelong Springfield resident. He was gentle by nature and from the time he was a young child he was drawn to help others in need.  He enjoyed motorcycle riding, working on cars, listening to country music and loved animals.

His family would like to thank Dr. Richard Brody for all his care and compassion in treating Joe. Although unable to conquer his addiction he was grateful for the help he received from Dr. Brody and area rehabilitation services.  His family would like to encourage all those suffering from addiction to continue to reach out for help.  They would also like to thank the local contractors who tried to help Joseph with his sobriety and taught him valuable skills.

He leaves his mother, Colleen Pafumi of Springfield; son, Christopher Girard of Indian Orchard; sons Anthony Pafumi of Wilbraham and Corey Pafumi of Ware and their mother, Amy McMenimen; a daughter, Natalya; his brothers, Michael Pafumi, Jr. and Adam Pafumi; his nephew Michael, III and nieces, Morganne and Casie; his aunts: Erin Grassetti (Raymond), Maureen O’Sullivan (Mickey Nowak), Susan Shapiro (Leo) and Linda D’Amario (John); his uncles: John O’Sullivan (Claudette), Joseph Pafumi (Debbie) and James Pafumi (Laurie) and many cousins, other family members, friends and his furry friend, Bella. He was predeceased by his father; his uncle Michael O’Sullivan; his maternal grandparents, John and Eileen O’Sullivan; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Bernice Pafumi; and Jamie Girard, the mother of his son, Christopher.
