Joseph Wurszt, 71, passed away February 5, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Dorbozy, Poland on April 29, 1950 to the late Jan and Stanislawa (Wal) Wurszt, he came to the United States in 1966 where he was an Indian Orchard resident before moving to Ludlow 12 years ago with his brother and sister-in-law. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and a member of the Polish National Alliance. He worked at Smith & Wesson for 32 years. Joe enjoyed watching sports, particularly baseball, football and soccer. He was proud of his Polish heritage but was honored to have become an American citizen. Joe loved gathering at holidays and meals and any time spent with his family, especially his nieces and nephews that he adored.
Joe leaves his siblings and their spouses: Stanley and Irena Wurszt of Ludlow, Barbara Lesniak of Indian Orchard and Janina and Wladyslaw Pielecha of Ludlow. Wujciu will be missed by his beloved nieces and nephews: Chris and Dalia Wurszt, Greg and Carla Wurszt, Dorothy and Tim Lewis, Halina Lesniak, Irena and Jamie Tomas, Ania and Jeff Kuntz, Danusia and Mark Budzyna and Ela and Pedro Gomes; his great-nieces and great-nephews: Evan, Alex, Owen, Cristiano, Guliana and Lucas Wurszt, Joe and John Lewis, Izabella and Mason Tomas, Piotr Budzyna, Kasia and Aleksander Kuntz and Michael and Christian Gomes; along with many cousins, other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law Joseph Lesniak.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 assembling at 10:00am at the funeral home and proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 25 Parker St., Indian Orchard MA 01151.
