Josephine Barbara (Plescia) Smuk, 84, passed away February 7, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Liberty, New York to the late Frank and Mary (Smiraglia) Plescia, she grew up in Monson, had lived in Ludlow for 15 years and in Indian Orchard for the past 20 years. Josephine was a parishioner of Christ the King Church in Ludlow. She enjoyed arts and crafts and painting, but most especially, she loved the time spent with her beloved family.
Josephine leaves her son, Joseph Peluso and his wife Lynne of Ludlow; 2 grandsons, Joseph, Jr. and Thomas Peluso; her niece and God-daughter, Laurie Barbeau and her family of Ludlow; nephews Tony Plescia of Monson and Gino Plescia of Alabama and their families; her cousin Robert Dranka of Chicopee and many other family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her son, Donald “Buck” Peluso on January 20, 2019; her husband, John Smuk in 2008 and her brother, Eugene Plescia in 2018.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Sat. Feb. 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 41 Warsaw St., Ludlow. There are no calling hours.
