Josephine V. (Tencza) Boryczka Stupak, 101, passed away September 28, 2020 at Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow. Born in the Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of late John and Mary (Wos) Tencza and came to Massachusetts in 1942. A longtime resident of Ludlow, she was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Church and was a member of its Rosary, St. Anne and Sacred Heart Sodalities. She was also a member of Polish American Veterans Auxiliary of Wilbraham, Ludlow Seniors, and Golden Agers of Springfield, Pine Point Branch. She loved to crochet afghan blankets and enjoyed gardening.
She was predeceased by her first husband John Boryczka in 1972; her second husband Alexander A. Stupak in 1992; two brothers, Joseph Tencza and Frank Tencza, both in 1989; son-in-law Robert Martell and son-in-law Eric Racine.
She leaves two loving daughters, Jean Martell of Harrisburg, PA and Christine Racine of Springfield; four grandchildren, Peter Racine, Denise Desjardins, Melissa Collins, and Sandra Barrick; 5 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren, other family members and friends. She also leaves her step-children and their spouses: Catherine and Richard Van Orman, Alexander and Barbara Stupak, Helen and Dr. Kulin Shah, and Walter and Mary Ellen Stupak; her step-grandchildren: Donna Gibson, Raymond Fioravanti, Richard Fioravanti, Tammy Grace, Timothy Stupak, Kiran Shah and Zachary Stupak and several step-great-grandchildren.
A public walk-thru visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 9:00-10:15am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. Funeral services will be held on Friday assembling at 10:15am at the funeral home and proceeding to Christ the King Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. Guests are required to adhere to state guidelines requiring wearing face masks, no contact, and social distancing.
