Karren E. Seaborne-Civiok, 73, a longtime Springfield resident, passed away October 10, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lawrence, MA on January 6, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Seaborne and Ruah (Walker) Mikelk. She grew up in Hardwick, graduated with the last class of Hardwick High School in 1968, and attended Fitchburg State University. Karren worked at Shawmut Bank and Telephone Workers Credit Union before embarking on a long career as a customer service rep for First Notice Systems, retiring in 2015. She was a former member of the Titanic Historical Society. A huge animal lover, she was a “cat mom” to many furry friends who she will greet at the Rainbow Bridge. Karren dedicated 30 years to the study of yoga. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and reading. She especially enjoyed being outdoors, spending time at the beach, camping and taking long walks at Quabbin Reservoir.
Karren leaves her beloved husband of 30 years, Michael Civiok; two daughters: JoAnne Leonard and her husband Micheal of Worcester and Kathryn Robinson and her husband Mathew of White Plains, MD; her step-children: David Civiok and his wife Jenn of Templeton, MA and Heather Mason and her partner John Gill of Beverly, MA; her brother, Michael Seaborne and his wife Darlene of GA; her grandchildren: Taylor Leonard, MacKenzie Leonard, Joshua Robinson, Bryant Mason, Avery Mason, Caleb Civiok, and Jocelyn Civiok; a great-granddaughter, Avery Elizabeth Gleason, along with other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield with Calling Hours from 10am-12pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 12pm.
