Kevin Anthony Mendenhall, 60, passed away January 27, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield on December 2, 1964 to the late James D. Mendenhall and Melsa (Choquette) Dearborn, Kevin was a lifelong resident of Springfield and Indian Orchard. For many years, he worked as a tow truck driver and was also a driver for Langone’s Florist. He was an avid music lover with an appreciation for all genres and enjoyed spending time outdoors. His grill was always available to cook on at all times of the year. Kevin had a deep affection for cars, particularly his muscle cars. He loved driving them, and they were a source of pride for him. The roar of the engine and the feel of the open road brought him immense joy. Above all, Kevin treasured the time spent with his family and friends, especially his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He leaves his children: Jeffery Mendenhall of Indian Orchard, Donald Mendenhall and his partner Brittany Seymour of South Hadley, and Stephanie Mendenhall and her partner Ariana Lozada of Indian Orchard; his fiancé Michelle Hamel; his siblings: Debra Taylor and her husband James of Indian Orchard, Michelle Danek of Ludlow, Paul Mendenhall of Springfield, Steven Mendenhall and his wife Paula of Dell City, OK and Daniel Mendenhall of Ludlow and his step-mother, Lucy Mendenhall. He also leaves 8 beloved grandchildren: Hayden, Ethan, Isabella, Gianna, Donald Jr., Logan, Jaxson, and Jaylen; several nieces and nephews, including a nephew Scott Mendenhall, and other extended family members, many friends, and his grand-pup, Philly. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother James L. Mendenhall and a sister, Sheila Mendenhall.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 4-6PM at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard. Please consider making a donation to assist the family in covering funeral expenses. No donation is too small and your support would be greatly appreciated.
