Kevin P. Russell

Kevin P. Russell, 67, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield on June 23, 1954, he was the son of the late George F. Russell, Jr. and Barbara H. (Oyler) Russell. Kevin worked in food service for Big Y for the past 17 years and previously worked for Jim Dandy. He was an avid golfer, fan of all Boston sports’ teams, and was a Little League coach. Kevin will be remembered as a kind, caring and loving husband, father and grandfather and a gentle man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Cindy, his sons, Brett and Brandon and their families, step-son Ryan Boilard and his wife Melanie his beloved grand daughters, Skylar & Hayleigh, as well as his  three siblings, George, Cynthia and his favorite little sister, Judy Russell. He also leaves many friends including his best friend, Steve McCarthy. Kevin was pre-deceased by his step-son, Devin and his best buddy, Rascal.

Funeral Services for Kevin will be held on Thursday, Dec. 23, with Calling Hours from 10am-12noon at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. A Prayer service will follow in the funeral home at 12noon and then Kevin will be buried at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kevin’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
