Krystyna “Krysia” (Szulc) Dyrkacz, 75, of Springfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 19, 2026.
Born on March 2, 1951, in Gdynia, Poland, she was one of four children born to the late Wiktor and Luiza (Benter) Szulc. Krystyna was raised in Poland and immigrated to the United States in 1990, eventually settling in Springfield, where she built a loving home and devoted herself to her family.
Krystyna will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and unwavering positivity. Even during life’s most difficult moments, she had the ability to make others laugh and bring a smile to their faces. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time outdoors tending to her flowers, tomatoes, and vegetable garden. A devoted fan of Karel Gott, she treasured the many memories she made attending his concerts. Krystyna also had a love for animals and cared for many beloved pets throughout her life.
Above all else, Krystyna’s greatest joy was her family. She expressed her love through her endless care, generosity, and delicious cooking, especially her traditional Polish meals.
Krystyna leaves behind her two loving daughters, Anna Dyrkacz of Wilbraham and Monika Rodriguez and her husband Omar of Milford; as well as her two cherished grandchildren, Maya and Evan. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mieczyslaw Dyrkacz; her parents, Wiktor and Luiza Szulc; and her three brothers.
Calling hours for Krystyna will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 10:00–11:30 AM at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church at 12:00 PM.
