Liliana (Rescigno) Santaniello, 88, of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts died peacefully on August 16, 2025. Formally a resident of Springfield and East Longmeadow, Ma where she and her late husband, Joseph raised their family. She was born on April 21, 1937 in Bracigliano, Italy. She was the daughter of Carmino and Rosa Maria Rescigno and was one of nine siblings. She immigrated to America after marriage in 1956 and in 1966 Liliana and Joseph opened their first pizza establishment; Joseph’s Pizza House in Springfield.
Liliana enjoyed working in her garden Spring, Summer and Fall. She took much pride in the many flowers, fruits and vegetables that her garden produced. She had a passion for cooking and baking around the holiday season; especially during Christmas and Easter.
Liliana loved her family and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren; Jackie, JR and Brennan and later her great grandchildren Benjamin, Matthew, Cole and Oliver. Her nieces and nephews brought much joy to her life as well.
She was predeceased by her late husband Joseph, and leaves behind her three children: Joseph Jr and wife Sara of Dover, NH , Carmino and wife Carrie of Feeding Hills, MA, Mario and wife Lynn of St James City, Florida along with three grandchildren and four great grandchildren: Jacqueline and husband Ray Albers and sons Benjamin and Matthew (Dallas, TX), JR and wife Megan Santaniello and sons Cole and Oliver (Darien, CT) and Brennan and wife Jenna Santaniello (Terre Haute, IN).
After the death of her husband Joseph, she was lovingly cared for by her son Carmino and wife Carrie.
A wake will be held at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave, Springfield, MA on Monday, August 25 from 9am to 10:45am with a Prayer Service at 10:45am followed by entombment in the mausoleum at St Michael’s Cemetery, Springfield.
