Lise Jacqueline Petit-Dondi, 72, of Chicopee, passed away on July 20, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada, on June 26, 1953, she was one of nine children of the late Marcellin J. and Rejeanne M. (Banville) Petit. Her family came to the United States in 1956 and made their home in the North End of Springfield where she grew up. Lise graduated from Springfield Trade High School in 1973 and went on to earn her Associate’s Degree in Dental Assisting from Springfield Technical Community College. She dedicated 44 years to the office of Dr. Robert Salem’s dental practice in West Springfield as a dental assistant and office manager.
Above all, Lise was devoted to her beloved family. She spent many years as the primary caregiver for her father, demonstrating unwavering love and compassion. Known for her ever-present smile and infectious sense of humor, Lise brought joy to everyone around her and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Lise leaves her beloved husband of 15 years, David Dondi. She was a proud “second mom” to Jennifer Farrell and her partner Matthew Lang, of West Springfield, Jessica Dondi of South Hadley, and Rebecca Macera and her husband Nicholas, of Cranston, RI and was a cherished “Mimi” to Cailey Louise Farrell, Riley Jessica Farrell, Nicholas Cooper Macera, and Isabelle Lise Macera. She also leaves seven loving siblings, Luc Petit and his wife Lise of Bluffton, SC, Norman Petit and his wife Jennifer of Jensen Beach, FL, Guy Petit and his husband Mike Reyor of Springfield, Sandra Kozciak of Westfield, Doris Hudson and her husband Michael of Middleboro, Michel Petit and his wife Valerie of Bluffton, SC, and Mark Petit of Chicopee, along with several beloved nieces and nephews, many friends and co-workers. She was predeceased by her parents, Marcellin and Rejeanne, and her brother Pierre.
Calling hours for Lise will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 10am-12pm followed by a Celebration of Life from 12-1pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. Burial will follow at 2pm at the MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
