Lori E. (Capaccio) Giza, 57, of Ludlow, passed peacefully at home on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021. Born in Springfield on June 5, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Theresa (Methe) Capaccio. Lori was raised in Wilbraham, and had lived in Ludlow since 1991. She worked as a General Manager at Café Manhattan in Springfield and as a Substitute Teacher for the Town of Ludlow. She was loved by all who knew her and will be remembered for her big heart and as a “mother” to many. She was an excellent cook who was willing to feed anyone and everyone, and you never left her house hungry.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Michael N. Giza, her daughter, Sophia Rose Giza who was the love of her life. She was predeceased by her sister, Roseanne Taylor, but is survived by her two brothers, Frank Capaccio and his wife Carol of Springfield and Nicholas Capaccio of South Carolina. Lori is also survived by five nieces and nephews.
There will be public “walk-thru” calling hours on Friday, Feb. 12, from 4:30pm-7:30pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Lori on Saturday at 10am at Christ the King Church, 41 Warsaw Ave., Ludlow (please meet directly at the church). Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Chicopee.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance at the funeral home and church is limited. Guests will be required to wear masks and distance socially.
