Lorraine Wagner Obituary

Lorraine “Lori” C. Wagner, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center with her daughter by her side. She was born in Springfield, MA to Michael and Sylvia (Lak) Gentile.

Lori wed the love of her life, the late James “Jim” W. Wagner. They were married for 68 years. Jim served in the U.S. Military for 20 years - together they were stationed throughout the country where they made many long-lasting memories with their 3 children. Thereafter, they pursued their love of cooking by owning and operating many restaurants including Villa Rose, Park Restaurant, Town & Country, and Sunset Restaurant.

Lori is survived by her sister Gloria Gleason of Shrewsbury, MA, her sons William Wagner and his wife Rita of Citrus Springs, FL, Michael Wagner and his wife Sonja of Ashburnham, MA, her beloved daughter Debra Kielbasa and her husband Gary of Ludlow, MA, her five grandchildren, Justin Wagner, Ashley Pavone, Jeffrey Wagner, Chad Kielbasa, and Amber Martin, and her eight great-grandchildren, Taylor Wagner, Blake Wagner, Jocelyn Wagner, Logan Martin, Max Martin, Violet Pavone, Juliet Pavone, and Raymond Pavone.

She was a dedicated Boston sports fan, enjoying the Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots. Lori loved cooking for family gatherings, game nights of pitch and Yahtzee, watching her grandchildren’s soccer, baseball, and basketball games, crossword puzzles, and Jeopardy. Most importantly, Lori loved being surrounded by family. She was the epitome of a great wife, mom, and grandma.

Lori was caring and compassionate with a gentle heart and infectious smile who was loved by everyone that knew her. She will always be remembered as the beautiful person she was and will be dearly missed.

A special thank you to Dr. John Joelson for the extraordinary care he gave to Lori over the years. “She will forever be a bright star in the sky.”
