Louis George Dagenais, 66, passed away November 22, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, MA on September 9, 1957 to the late James and Stella (Poulopoulos) Dagenais.
A hardworking individual, Louis spent many years of his life as a truck driver. Additionally, he served as a security guard at Mercy Medical Center, contributing to the safety and well-being of others.
Louis had a passion for hockey, particularly the Springfield Thunderbirds. Not only was he a former bus driver for the team, but he was also a devoted season ticket holder, attending each game with his girlfriend. Their shared enthusiasm extended beyond the ice rink, as they enjoyed traveling together to NASCAR races, creating cherished memories and experiences.
Known for his outgoing personality, Louis loved connecting with people and engaging in conversations. He had a big heart and was a very caring person.
Louis is survived by his girlfriend, Patricia Jenk; his son, Louis Dagenais and his partner Crystal Nyzio, as well as his daughter, Cassandra Dagenais; his siblings, Cathy Dagenais, Elaine Dagenais, Joanne Dagenais, and Jamie Dagenais; and his former wife, Patricia Dagenais. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family members, and many friends.
One of the great joys in Louis's life was his beloved granddaughter, Charleigh Dagenais. He took immense pleasure in spending quality time with her, creating a special bond that will forever be cherished.
A Celebration of Louis’ life will be held at a later date. Details will be forthcoming. Arrangements are entrusted to Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services.
