Luis Carlos DaSilva, aged 94, passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2024, in Ludlow, MA, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Alcobaça, Portugal, to the late Carlos and Joaquina (DaSilva) Vitorino, Luis lived a life full of love, dedication, and joy.
He was preceded by his beloved wife of 65 years, Maria Ilda (Agostinho) DaSilva, and his siblings Manuel Vitorino, Albino Vitorino, and Alice Costa. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his surviving family: two loving daughters, Maria Zelia Alves (Artur Alves) of Springfield and Anabela Smith (Jerry Smith, Sr.) of Ludlow; his cherished grandchildren Cindy (Carlos), Stephen, Danny (Sarah), David (Joanna), Dominic, Jessie, Derek, Desiree, Jerry Jr., Brandon, and Dustin (Lacy); his adored great-grandchildren Danny (Amanda), Lexy (Kevin), Haleigh, Stephen Jr., Rita, Sumer, Mason, Massimo, Valentina, Adelina, Dakota, Connor, Waylon, Lennox, Xavier, and Nathan; and his precious great-great-grandchild Celeste Carmen (Cece).
Luis is also survived by his caring brother Marino Vitorino (Deolinda), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends both in the United States and Europe. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In 1970, Luis emigrated from Portugal to Indian Orchard, MA, with his family. He enjoyed singing, taking long walks, winemaking, and spending time with his loved ones. His warmth, humor, and generosity touched the lives of everyone he met.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Jose Vinagre, MD and staff at Orchard Medical, and Jess and staff at Beacon Hospice, for their compassionate care and support.
Luis will be remembered for his loving spirit, his dedication to his family, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will live on in our hearts forever.
Wake and funeral services will be held privately.
