Madeleine E. (Dubois) Gagne, 84, formerly of Palmer, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at Vantage of Wilbraham. She was born in Springfield on November 5, 1939 to the late Alfred and Yvonne (Racicot) Dubois. From 1964-1978, Madeleine worked in the cafeteria at St. Joseph School in Springfield. She briefly joined the team at Buxton in Agawam and then worked at Springfield Spring in East Longmeadow for 14 years until her retirement in 2003. Always the life of the party, she effortlessly mingled with others, always ready to strike up a conversation and extend a warm welcome to newcomers. She enjoyed listening to country music and playing card games, especially Yahtzee, Uno, and Skip-Bo. Above all else, Madeleine's greatest treasure was her family. Every moment spent with her loved ones was a precious gift, cherished deeply in her heart.
She leaves her children: Mark Gagne and his wife Lorrie, Gisele Ambrosini and her husband Anthony, Lynn Nichols, and Jeannine Gagne and her husband Luis; her grandchildren: Jennifer, Casey, Katherine, Heather, Benjamin, Erica, and Marie; 10 great-grandchildren, along with many other extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph Gagne, and her sister Anita Laflamme.
