Maria Helena Ferreira

Maria Helena Ferreira, 67, passed away January 21, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born in Macal do Chão, Portugal to the late Jose and Maria Conceicão (Gasper) Ferreira. She worked as a home health aide and cook. She loved vacationing at her second home in Old Orchard Beach, Maine with her family and friends. She enjoyed trying her luck at the casino, going to social gatherings with her friends, as well as shopping with her daughters and granddaughters.

She leaves her three daughters: Lucy Muche of Chicopee, Vicky Santos and her husband Eddie of Belchertown and Jenny Muche of Indian Orchard; her brothers and sisters: Fred Ferreira, Victor Ferreira, Maria Arlete Arbour and Maria Idalia Emiterio; her beloved grandchildren: Andrea Prokop, Alyssa Smith, Makayla Caron, Alexander Smith, Sofia Santos and Matthew Santos; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Prokop, along with many other family members and friends.

A public walk-thru visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 8:30-10:30am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield and then proceeding to Our Lady of Fatima Church, Ludlow for a funeral mass at 11:00am. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. All guests will be required to follow all Covid-19 precautions in regards to masks and social distancing and there will be limitations on capacity at the funeral home and church.
