Marilyn (Bergdoll) Kempesty, 81, of Ludlow, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Marilyn was born in Springfield, MA on December 29, 1942. She was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Krajeska) Bergdoll. She graduated from Trade High School in Springfield in 1961. She was married to the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” for 55 years. Marilyn loved her day trips to Cape Cod with Anthony and enjoyed the many drives they went on. Marilyn loved going to craft fairs with her sister. Her home and those of her children and friends were adorned with the crafts she collected. Marilyn enjoyed her time with her children and grandchildren. Before retiring, Marilyn worked at Kendall Commons Nursing home for 34 years. Marilyn was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Ludlow.
She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony; her children Deborah Lukas and her husband Jeffrey of Palmer, MA and Anthony Kempesty and his wife Laura of Ludlow, MA; her beloved grandchildren Gabriella and Ashley Lukas; her sister Nancy Jay and her husband George, as well as several nephews and a niece and a cherished friend, Donna Rossini.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 4-7pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Indian Orchard. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 assembling at the funeral home at 10am and proceeding to Christ the King Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery.
