Mark S. Bettis, Sr.

Mark Stephen Bettis, Sr., 68, passed away April 18, 2025 at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Great Barrington, MA, to the late Richard A. Bettis and Marilyn (Pixler) Bettis, Mark spent his early years in Los Angeles before settling in Springfield, MA in 1968.  For 35 years, he worked as a CDL driver for Foisey Moving Co. and also worked for Bert Hill Movers for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing and had an appreciation for classic oldies, especially music from the '60s. He rarely passed up an opportunity to watch an old western with a bowl of ice cream in hand and was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers.

He leaves his wife of 15 years, Susanne (Kirk) Bettis; his children, Mark Bettis, Jr. and his wife Annette of CA, Andrew McDonald of Springfield and Melissa McDonald of Indian Orchard; his siblings: Kelly, Denise, Susan, Ruth, David, and Richard; 6 grandchildren, along with other extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, John.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 4-6pm at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield. Committal service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 9am at the MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
